Ridin' the Storm Out

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Despite a sudden lineup change that temporarily saw Mike Murphy replace original vocalist Kevin Cronin, the band's third album fundamentally established their signature, arena-ready sound. Driven by Gary Richrath's fiery guitar work and the iconic, relentless synthesizer introduction of the title track, the record perfectly blends Midwest boogie-rock with radio-friendly AOR melodicism. It laid the crucial stylistic groundwork for their massive, multiplatinum success in the subsequent decade.
