In This City They Call You Love

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The veteran Sheffield crooner strips away much of his earlier alternative rock bombast, resulting in a breathtakingly lush, incredibly mellow collection of classic chamber pop. Grounded by his rich, baritone vocal delivery, the record acts as a deeply sentimental, romanticized ode to working-class urban life and nocturnal longing. It is a wonderfully peaceful, highly soothing masterclass in traditional orchestral pop.
