Recorded live in early 1974 at Don Cornelius's Soul Train nightclub in San Francisco and produced by Pryor himself, 'That Nigger's Crazy' was his third album. It won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. Laff Records nearly blocked its release with an injunction over Pryor's recording rights before negotiations freed him from that contract.
