Album Notes & Community Reviews

Rickie Lee Jones drastically deepened her bohemian jazz-pop sound on her second album, crafting incredibly intricate, suite-like compositions. 'Pirates' is a brilliantly arranged, deeply nocturnal masterpiece, utilizing lush horns and synthesizers to back her remarkably evocative, deeply romantic, and highly poetic tales of urban heartbreak.
