Carnival of Light

by Ride

Carnival of Light cover art

Abandoning the dense shoegaze textures that defined their early masterworks, Ride's third album pivots sharply toward 1960s-inspired psychedelic pop and the ascendant Britpop movement. The album is notable for exposing the growing songwriting rift between frontmen Mark Gardener and Andy Bell, who essentially divided the record into two distinct halves.
