Album Notes & Community Reviews
Ortolani scored Tonino Valerii's film, in which Lee Van Cleef's gunfighter takes Giuliano Gemma's street sweeper as his pupil, with a big-band main theme of unusual swagger for the genre. The original LP programme appeared in mono in Italy and stereo in the United States, and Quentin Tarantino revived the main theme wholesale for a sharpshooting scene in 'Django Unchained'.
