Representing his third solo outing, this record finds the former Led Zeppelin frontman venturing furthest away from his blues-rock origins. 'Shaken 'n' Stirred' utilizes heavily sequenced drum machines, eccentric synthesizer textures, and highly abstract lyrical themes, heavily influenced by the contemporary art pop landscape. The challenging, experimental production ultimately polarized fans but yielded the successful mainstream rock single 'Little by Little'.
