Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the official solo debut from the relentlessly prolific Guided By Voices frontman, the record remarkably maintains his signature lo-fi, fractured power-pop aesthetic. Backed heavily by GBV bandmate Tobin Sprout, the remarkably concise tracks balance surreal, absurdist poetry with genuinely touching, acoustic-driven melancholy. It highlighted Pollard's inexhaustible melodic songwriting capability, operating perfectly in parallel with his main band's chaotic output.
