Album Notes & Community Reviews
Navigating the complex, heavily textured orchestrations of Schumann's second symphony, Carl Schuricht conducts the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra with a remarkably lucid, forward-moving momentum. The recording successfully clarifies the often knotty brass and string interplay, revealing the underlying structural brilliance of the piece. It is a highly respected, distinctly French interpretation of German romanticism.
