Diamonds & Dirt

Album Notes & Community Reviews

A colossal critical and commercial success, this release yielded an unprecedented five consecutive number-one singles on the country charts. Co-produced with Tony Brown, it masterfully balances sharp neo-traditional honky-tonk with accessible country-pop sensibilities. The songwriting, largely handled by Crowell himself, established a new gold standard for mainstream Nashville production during the late 1980s.
