Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing a remarkable late-career creative streak, the veteran songwriter delivers a highly literate and deeply introspective set of modern country rock. The production perfectly balances acoustic intimacy with driving electric roots instrumentation, providing a sturdy framework for his sharply observed narratives dealing with aging, spirituality, and societal shifts. It is widely considered a masterful document of mature American songwriting.
