Hairless Toys

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Ending an eight-year hiatus from full-length solo releases, the former Moloko frontwoman delivers an understated, profoundly sophisticated collection of avant-garde pop. The production, guided by longtime collaborator Eddie Stevens, eschews immediate dancefloor gratification for complex, slow-burning microhouse grooves and intricate jazz-inflected phrasing. It earned significant critical praise, netting a nomination for the Mercury Prize.
