Album Notes & Community Reviews

Vibraphonist Roy Ayers continued to refine his deeply influential, smooth jazz-funk sound on this wonderfully cohesive, sun-drenched release. Highlighting his signature, echoing vibraphone tones against a backdrop of tight, syncopated basslines and lush backing vocals, the record perfectly balances accessible soul melodies with complex improvisational chops. The album cemented his status as a pioneer of the highly sample-able, cosmic funk aesthetic.
