Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Virgo Vibes' served as vibraphonist Roy Ayers's second album as a bandleader, capturing him before his transition to funk and crossover R&B. Assisted by luminaries like Joe Henderson and Charles Tolliver, Ayers navigated complex post-bop modal structures and driving, Latin-inflected rhythms. The record remains a crucial document of his early improvisational prowess and deep jazz foundations.
