Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the highly influential drummer in an early leadership role, 'Busman's Holiday' features a tight, hard-swinging ensemble. Roy Haynes drives the rhythmic foundation with his famously crisp, snappy snare work, perfectly complementing the aggressive horn lines of the hard bop idiom. The sessions highlight the transition of modern jazz toward earthier, more blues-oriented structures.
