Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded at RCA Studio B, 'In Dreams' captures Roy Orbison's distinctive, operatic vocals set against producer Fred Foster's sophisticated and atmospheric arrangements, which blended pop with the orchestral Nashville Sound. The album centers on themes of longing and fractured fantasy, mixing Orbison's own complex compositions like the seven-movement title track with thematically consistent covers such as "All I Have to Do Is Dream." This collection solidified Orbison's persona as a master of the dramatic, emotional ballad while achieving significant international chart success.
