Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as his highly anticipated debut for MGM Records following his departure from Monument, the album continues Roy Orbison's mastery of the operatic, emotionally devastating pop ballad. Featuring the hit 'Ride Away', the production relies heavily on sweeping orchestral arrangements and dramatic crescendos perfectly tailored to his multi-octave vocal range. It proved his stylized, melodramatic approach remained commercially viable amidst changing 1960s trends.
