Album Notes & Community Reviews
A brilliant exercise in roots music synthesis, this LP sees the guitar virtuoso blending traditional American folk and blues with vibrant Hawaiian slack-key elements and Norte帽o rhythms. Accompanied by legendary musicians like Flaco Jim茅nez and Gabby Pahinui, Cooder creates a warm, deeply cross-cultural sonic stew. The title refers to Hawaiian slang for goosebumps, a testament to the album's profoundly soulful execution.
