Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded while the legendary Puerto Rican conguero was living in exile in Sweden, this incredibly rare session is a ferocious, rhythmically overpowering blast of Afro-Cuban jazz and heavy Latin funk. Backed primarily by Swedish jazz musicians, the recording is dominated by Martinez's blistering, polyrhythmic percussion and deeply political, often confrontational spoken-word interjections. Long lost to obscurity, the album is now highly revered by global funk and spiritual jazz collectors.
