I've Been Trying to Tell You

Constructed almost entirely from slowed-down, manipulated samples of pop songs released between 1997 and 2001, the veteran British trio crafted an incredibly specific homage to turn-of-the-century optimism. The record utilizes vaporwave and plunderphonics techniques to evoke a hazy, dreamlike nostalgia for the period right before the 9/11 attacks. It was released alongside an accompanying film directed by acclaimed photographer Alasdair McLellan.
