Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded primarily in Iceland with producer Valgeir Sigur冒sson, this album finds Sam Amidon continuing to rework traditional Appalachian folk songs and hymns. The arrangements feature sweeping orchestral contributions from Nico Muhly, framing Amidon's stark, unadorned vocal delivery within a lush, contemporary chamber setting.
