Album Notes & Community Reviews
The acclaimed multi-instrumentalist continues his lifelong project of excavating and reimagining traditional Appalachian folk songs through a distinctly modern, avant-garde lens. The record is characterized by its fragile chamber folk arrangements, intertwining Amidon's banjo and acoustic guitar with unpredictable, highly emotive string sections. It stands as a brilliant, structurally complex revitalization of ancestral American music.
