Album Notes & Community Reviews

For her second solo outing, the revered former Fairport Convention vocalist enlisted a stellar cast of backing musicians, including Richard Thompson and Sneaky Pete Kleinow. The production is rich and layered, incorporating subtle brass and pedal steel arrangements that perfectly compliment her formidable, resonant voice and melancholic songwriting. It is widely celebrated as her most cohesive and enduringly powerful solo statement.
