Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following the brief lifespan of Fotheringay, the revered vocalist launched her solo career with this profoundly melancholic and atmospheric debut. Featuring crucial instrumental and co-production contributions from Fairport Convention bandmate Richard Thompson, the record balances starkly traditional folk ballads with dense, slightly electric arrangements. It is widely considered her most intimate and emotionally resonant collection of original songwriting.
