Album Notes & Community Reviews
Navigating the heavily synthesized musical climate of the late eighties, the veteran ensemble attempted to balance their signature Latin percussion with glossy arena-rock choruses. 'Freedom' reunites Carlos Santana with several key members of his classic line-up while aggressively pursuing contemporary pop appeal. Though dividing purists, it features flashes of the incendiary guitar work that built the group's legacy.
