Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping away from her heavily orchestrated pop material, the unparalleled vocalist returns to a relatively intimate jazz setting guided by arranger Jimmy Jones. The smaller ensemble allows her virtuosic phrasing, astonishing harmonic control, and deep, resonant tone to remain the absolute focal point of the sessions. It is widely considered a creative triumph that beautifully reconnects her with her core jazz audience.
