Following the dissolution of Savage Republic, Bruce Licher founded Scenic to fully explore highly cinematic, heavily instrumental desert rock. 'Incident at Cima' perfectly utilizes shimmering, Morricone-esque surf guitars and expansive, neo-psychedelic textures to vividly evoke the sprawling isolation of the Mojave Desert. The record stands confidently as a brilliantly atmospheric, deeply hypnotic early pillar of the American post-rock movement.
