Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping into higher fidelity studio production, the indie rock veterans smoothed out their notoriously lo-fi aesthetics without losing their emotional volatility. The songwriting duties remain fiercely split between Lou Barlow's vulnerable acoustic balladry and Jason Loewenstein's aggressive, punk-infused outbursts. It stands as one of their most commercially accessible and consistently melodic offerings within the 1990s alternative boom.
