Album Notes & Community Reviews
Formed by members of Mr. Bungle, the instrumental collective debuted with a wildly unpredictable, cinematic fusion of surf rock, extreme metal, and traditional Middle Eastern music. Trey Spruance's frenetic arrangements leap effortlessly between chaotic noise blasts, intricate cinematic orchestration, and complex, shifting time signatures. The esoteric, highly surreal record established a brilliant, technically demanding foundation for the group's sprawling, multi-faceted mythology.
