Album Notes & Community Reviews

The band's first full-length for Warp Records, 'Succour' marked a significant shift away from the shoegaze-inflected sound of their debut. It's a darker, more abstract and deconstructed album that leans heavily into ambient techno, IDM, and illbient. The record de-emphasizes vocals and conventional song structures in favor of cavernous, dub-influenced soundscapes and complex, mechanical rhythms, becoming a landmark release in mid-90s experimental electronic music.
