Album Notes & Community Reviews

Abandoning the lush orchestral backing of his earlier work, Serge Gainsbourg records with only an electric jazz guitar and a double bass. The minimalist arrangements highlight his closely miked, conversational vocal phrasing and increasingly cynical, introspective lyricism.
