Album Notes & Community Reviews

Helmed by the brilliant Vladimir Ashkenazy, the Concertgebouworkest delivers a sweeping, remarkably emotional performance of Rachmaninoff's lush orchestral masterpiece. Captured in the glorious acoustics of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the digital recording highlights the profound melancholy and surging, Russian romanticism inherent in the score. It is widely considered one of the definitive modern interpretations of the work.
