The Don of Diamond Dreams

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Ishmael Butler continues to expand his cosmic, Afrofuturist vision of hip-hop on the project's fifth studio album. The production heavily incorporates rubbery synth-funk basslines, hazy auto-tuned vocals, and abstract jazz textures that completely disregard traditional rap structures. The record stands as a surreal, psychedelic testament to his enduring status as an underground innovator.
