Shannon's debut studio album, spearheaded by the massive title track, is widely credited with establishing the Latin freestyle genre. The production's heavy use of Roland TR-808 drum machines and syncopated basslines bridged the gap between electro and dance-pop. It remains a foundational text for 1980s club music and heavily influenced freestyle's subsequent explosion.
