Album Notes & Community Reviews

Aptly titled despite its brief runtime, 'Epic' significantly expanded Sharon Van Etten's sonic palette beyond the austere acoustic arrangements of her debut. She enlisted a full backing band to introduce sweeping pedal steel and harmonium, elevating her devastatingly honest songwriting to a more cinematic level. The album's exploration of healing and toxic relationships established her as a preeminent voice in modern indie-folk.
