Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing a remarkably dexterous approach to the acoustic guitar, Shawn Phillips' early recordings blend folk traditionalism with expansive, multi-octave vocal performances. The eponymous effort hints heavily at the complex, spiritually driven progressive folk sound he would pioneer in subsequent decades.
