Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut collaboration between actress Zooey Deschanel and indie-folk veteran M. Ward is a meticulously crafted homage to 1960s AM radio pop. Driven by Deschanel's incredibly sweet, retro-leaning vocal performances and Ward's pristine, country-tinged acoustic production, the record successfully escapes the typical pitfalls of 'actor-turned-musician' vanity projects. It achieved massive crossover success, perfectly capturing the era's twee-pop aesthetic.
