Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut album from Zimbabwean-American artist and poet Shungudzo is a bold and inventive statement, written and produced almost entirely on her own. The record fuses her background as a poet with a diverse musical palette, blending Afropop rhythms, spoken word, and soulful melodies to tackle social and personal issues. Each song acts as one of her 'children,' sent into the world to convey a message.
