Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in a makeshift studio inside the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort in Rajasthan, this collaborative project fuses traditional Sufi Qawwali music with modern Western instrumentation. Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood provides driving drum machines and subtle electronic textures behind the ecstatic, massive horn sections and impassioned vocals of the local musicians. The sessions were notably documented in an acclaimed film directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
