Nowa Aleksandria

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On their only studio album, 'Nowa Aleksandria', Siekiera executed a definitive shift from their hardcore punk origins to a sound firmly rooted in coldwave and post-punk. Driven by the songwriting of Tomasz Adamski, the record employs harsh, distorted bass, martial drum machine-like rhythms, and atmospheric keyboards to create a cold, desolate soundscape influenced by bands like Killing Joke and Joy Division. Initially met with a mixed reception, the album's moody, direct, and sonically bleak character eventually established it as a landmark and household name in the history of Polish rock and new wave.
