Album Notes & Community Reviews

Propelled to immense international success, 'A New Flame' solidified Simply Red as the premier act in late-80s British blue-eyed soul. Mick Hucknall鈥檚 powerful vocal performances are backed by slickly produced, highly sophisticated arrangements incorporating light jazz and funk textures. The album's centerpiece, a wildly successful cover of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes' 'If You Don't Know Me by Now', topped charts globally.
