The instrumental supergroup, led by classical guitarist John Williams, continued their highly successful formula of adapting classical repertoire into a polished progressive rock format. 'Sky 4' prominently features sweeping synthesizer arrangements of composers like Berlioz and Wagner, alongside complex original compositions. Despite the departure of keyboardist Francis Monkman, the record maintained their strong presence on the British charts.
