Album Notes & Community Reviews

Rushed to completion before the rapper began serving a prison sentence, this sophomore effort features rapid production primarily handled by Vance Wright. 'The Ruler's Back' retains Slick Rick's iconic deadpan delivery and humorous storytelling, though the hurried recording circumstances lend a noticeably lethargic and melancholic undertone to the tracks.
