Album Notes & Community Reviews

Credited entirely as a solo effort rather than to the Family Stone, 'High on You' finds Sly Stone continuing to navigate the dense, murky funk that characterized his mid-70s output. While less conceptually cohesive than his masterpieces, the album still delivers fiercely syncopated, horn-heavy grooves laced with his unmistakable, idiosyncratic vocal delivery and heavy synthesizer presence.
