Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning to her hometown of Houston, Texas, Solange crafts a sprawling, deeply atmospheric homage to the city's unique hip-hop and soul heritage. The album is incredibly fluid and nonlinear, prioritizing woozy jazz-funk loops, repetitive vocal mantras, and chopped-and-screwed textures over traditional R&B song structures. It features a stellar cast of contributors including Earl Sweatshirt, Playboi Carti, and Tyler, The Creator.
