Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking his triumphant return to the recording studio after several years in Europe, 'This Is Criss!' finds the alto saxophonist thriving within a quartet setting. Supported by a precise rhythm section featuring Paul Chambers, the album gracefully balances the muscularity of hard bop with introspective, blues-inflected coolness.
