Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded for the seminal ESP-Disk label, the saxophonist leads a fiery ensemble that includes his wife, Barbara Donald, on trumpet. 'Music From the Spheres' is a torrential exploration of intense group improvisation and shrieking tonal freedom. The record stands as a vital document of the 1960s underground free jazz movement and Simmons' uncompromising instrumental voice.
