Let Your Dim Light Shine

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tasked with following up the multi-platinum success of 'Grave Dancers Union', Soul Asylum opted for a remarkably slick, highly polished production approach on 'Let Your Dim Light Shine'. The album leans heavily into sentimental balladry and accessible, folk-tinged alternative rock, largely abandoning their scrappy punk roots. While highly successful commercially, spearheaded by the hit single 'Misery', it marked a definitive, polarizing shift toward mainstream radio accessibility.
