KROK

The fourth album from the Belarusian band СОЮЗ / SOYUZ, 'KROK' represents a significant evolution shaped by the group's own displacement and renewal. The title, meaning "step" in Belarusian, reflects both the band's physical journey after leaving their homeland amidst political turmoil and a creative leap, with leader Alex Chumak shifting to his native language for the lyrics. Recorded partially in São Paulo with Brazilian musicians, the album melds the band's Eastern European folk-jazz roots with cinematic library music, jazz-driven pop, and a subtle but distinct Latin undercurrent, exploring themes of migration, dreams, and uncertainty.
