Album Notes & Community Reviews
Arriving when traditional progressive rock was critically marginalized by the alternative music boom, Neal Morse's project brazenly revived the highly complex, sprawling compositions of the 1970s. The debut heavily utilizes massive, multi-part suites, soaring mellotron lines, and incredibly complex, shifting time signatures reminiscent of Genesis and Yes. The unapologetically virtuosic, highly melodic recording served as a vital catalyst for the modern American symphonic prog revival.
